Well I'm currently working on and book for Avatar Press entitled Über, written by Kieron Gallon - writer of various titles from Marvel to Image.
It's a very unique spin on WW2. It begins the last few days of the war before Hitler's regime tanked. Just
when Hitler was going to end his life (in this particular story), he receives word from of of his generals that a development has taken place. That's when rumors begin to circulate of a mysterious army terrorizing the allied forces - and with brutal efficiency! As other nations start gaining intel the discover that this "army" is not just more advanced, but that the soldiers themselves have displayed crushing weaponry that appears so steam from a hidden formula. Britain has speculated as such, which is why we are introduced to Stephanie the scientist/ spy for the allies, to infiltrate the testing facility and acquire this formula to start there own testing and hopefully creation of the
"Uber" Soldier. And thus begins the arms race leaving devastation and carnage in it's wake. Once. Über is done, the world will be a veeery different place. If you haven't read it, the trade paper back will be released in a month or so which has the first
vol (first 5 issues) rolled into one. And… wait to see what happens at the end of issue 11. Everything has been building up to a massive
crescdendo and ohhh what a sound it will make!!!!
2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?
Wow. So many, hehehe. But to make a long story short, I'm currently
loving Ivan Reis and Mike Perkins for the realism they bring while still maintaining the comic book feel. Its like a middle ground of like an Alex Ross.
3) How did you get into the comic book field?
Kinda an interesting story. I was at a local comic shop and was just sitting there drawing. Was kinda a
pastime I would do. this particular day, I was frustrated with where my art was going. Didn't quite know if I was even going to pursue it. While
I was looking at some of the magazines, I came across the former
Wizzworld mag. In it was an article that said "if you are serious about getting into comics, keep
reading." It proceeded to list a lot of the web sites such as Deviantart. From there, I began posting art which got the attention of the Dabel Brothers. Ptolus was the first comic book series I did. Based In the world created by Monte
Cooke (creator of the D&D and Ptolus board game) it was your typical fantasy based title. Due to some situation with Dabel Brothers, I then began submitting to other publishers. long story short, Avatar Press responded, liked my work, and the rest is history, hehe.
which title would you most like to work and why?
Cloak and Dagger. They are untapped I feel. There is so much more you can do. I would almost go the route of a modern day fantasy book. 2nd, may be a
Batman title or Superman, if the story was right. With the new 52, my interest has been really low on the
stories they produce, although I think JLA Dark is pretty cool.
what project will you be working next?
As it stands right now, the future knows. Uber has most of my attention. I will have a good body of work whenever Uber ends which will make for a solid portfolio. So
