Five Questions with...
Artist Keith Betancourt

1) What project are you currently working on?
The Mighty Titan (colorist).

2) Who in your field do you admire most and why?
As for colorists, I enjoy Marte Garcia, Rod Reis, John Rauch, Brian Miller, and Alex Sinclair. When it comes to pencilers (being that I'm a penciler at heart) Jim Lee, Ivan Reis, and Ryan Ottley...

3) How did you get into the comic book field?
I started out inking a few sequentials/pinups my friend Jesus Marquez did for a faith-based ashcan anthology called MEGAZEEN... With Megazeen, I would go to Jersey and do sketches for Free Comic Book Day at a comic shop called New Moon Comics... that's where I met creator and writer of the Mighty Titan, Joe Martino. We chatted on Facebook a few times, I told him if he ever needed help I'd be willing....one thing lead to another and BAM!... I'm coloring the Mighty Titan...and I'm enjoying it.

4) Which title would you most like to work on and why?
Hmmmm.... well, as a colorist, I'd have to say it more of the artist rather than the title. And if I'm going by that then I'd go with Ryan Ottley. His line work is clean, clear, and gives you something to work with. As for title? I would go with Green Lantern or Batman... I'm a big fan of those characters.

5) What project will you be working on next?
After my run on Mighty Titan is completed, I plan on, finally, creating something of my own. I've learned a lot from working on this project that it's given me the desire and motivation to do just that.
